To promote and support the protection, optimal development, and growth of our children
WAMN is committed to creating a solid culture of immigrant children destined for greatness and prepared to take their rightful place in our nation. All children should have the same opportunities, starting with a solid foundation of early childhood development and access to the best education.
In our response to the changes in education and the alarming reports of dropouts, poor academic performance, juvenile delinquency, and negative images that define the future of the Latino community, We want to serve as a resource and a voice for Latino children and families; with a deep sense of commitment, urgency, and dedication, we are working hard to help our children to navigate through an increasingly competitive society that places obstacles that constantly limit their possibilities and opportunities.
"A picture is worth a thousand words"
Using art to learn literacy concepts and skills
When children's stories are fueled by rich visual imagery, their writing is transformed in many powerful ways. Integrating children's visual imagery at every stage of the writing process, from the earliest stage of pre-writing/idea formulation through essays, writing, revision and publication.
By being introduced to a variety of simple art materials and methods early on, children-writers have access to visual and kinesthetic as well as verbal modes of thinking. For verbal thinkers, this approach can serve to extend their thinking and writing.

In a world increasingly marked by exponential changes and challenges, new opportunities are also emerging at a faster rate. Although the risk increases due to the accelerated change and the increasing uncertainty, we need professionals who are willing and able to take those risks and see and take advantage of the opportunities.
Helping to advance the efforts to fully integrate skilled immigrants into Minnesota's economy this year.
